- Anaphylatic Shock
- SYMPTOMS. At first, you may notice agitation, itching, coughing, sneezing,
- large hives, difficulty breathing and the skin may be flushed. Soon after
- seeing these symptoms you may see signs of shock which include; rapid and
- weak pulse, cold & clammy skin, pale skin, and sweaty palms.
- CAUSES. Anaphylactic shock may be caused by allergic reaction to drugs or
- insect stings. THIS IS A LIFE-AND-DEATH EMERGENCY SITUATION.
- TREATMENT. SEEK MEDICAL ASSISTANCE IMMEDIATELY.
- .If you can reach medical help quicker than an ambulance, do not wait for
- one because death can occur in minutes.
- .If caused by a bee sting, apply a cold compress to place of the sting and
- also remove the stinger and venom sac.
- .Attempt to slow the spread of venom by applying a tourniquet just above
- the sting. You must loosen the tourniquet every four minutes.
- .If a sting kit is available, follow the directions immediately.
